About the Position

Riverland Youth Theatre (RYT) is seeking a Creative Producer who will lead an enthusiastic team of aspiring youth artists, staff, tutors, and volunteers in the development, management, and delivery of the RYT’s annual artistic program, including taking responsibility for a variety of partnerships, projects, workshops, and performances in the community. This full-time, one-year contract position will suit a well-qualified and highly motivated individual with experience in creating theatre and performance by, with, and for young people, and who possesses excellent communication, organisation, and team management skills. The person will also be passionate about mentoring and facilitating the creative endeavours of emerging young artists while working within a thriving rural community environment.

The Creative Producer position at RYT combines artistic roles with senior management functions, budgeting, and sourcing of funds, while reporting to the Board of Management on all aspects of company operations. This role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to plan and implement vibrant new initiatives in contemporary youth arts through creative practice and leadership which is informed by young people, state and regional arts organisations, artists, audiences, cross-cultural collaboration, and well-established networks in the Riverland.

Vision: Riverland Youth Theatre inspires, nurtures, and cultivates the creativity and stories of Riverland young people.

Riverland Youth Theatre is the only dedicated youth arts organisation in the region for 5 to 26-year-old active participants and delivers youth arts programs from its headquarters in the Renmark Institute. RYT’s artistic programs extend beyond its youth hub in Renmark to deliver arts activities and workshops to thousands of young people in communities, schools, and interested groups throughout the Riverland, encompassing the five major townships of Barmera, Berri, Loxton, Renmark, and Waikerie. With 35 years of continuous operation as a leading theatre company, RYT provides opportunities for young people to develop their talent, creative expression, performance, and technical skills in the context of their own community and culture. About the Location

The Riverland region is situated two hour’s drive northeast of Adelaide and extends over an area of almost 10,000 square kilometres, stretching along the Murray River from Blanchetown to the Victorian border. Cirkidz Autumn Workshops

Participants will be focusing on developing a variety of fundamentals in various circus disciplines including tumbling, juggling, trampoline, acrobatics, balance and more! Improve coordination, strength and flexibility via games, activities, structured play and group work.

Hip Hop & Contemporary Dance Workshops

As part of our Nunga Rhythms program, and thanks to our partnership with Country Arts SA, we will be holding these free workshops at our home venue, Renmark Institute, 54 Ral Ral Avenue, Renmark, on March 17.

Our 2020 workshop with Djuki Mala dancers was sadly cancelled due to travel restrictions, however, we do have these workshops led by Wakara Gondarra (Djuki Mala dancer) and the awesome Janelle Egan.

There are three workshops on offer and you can attend one, two or all three! Just let us know as soon as you can as you don’t want to miss out!

Participants please bring a named water bottle and a snack if needed.  Wear stretchy, comfortable clothes and we may take shoes off for the workshop.

Tackerz & Tweenz will learn teamwork and cooperation skills as they explore thrilling new ways to move their bodies and flex their creativity! We will be focusing on developing a variety of fundamentals in various circus disciplines including tumbling, juggling, trampoline, acrobatics, balance and more! Improve coordination, strength and flexibility via games, activities, structured play and group work.

Calling all actors and creatives aged 10 to 13: Calling Hollywood: Take 2 has returned for nine-weekly workshops. While developing quick-thinking improvisation skills and diving deep into channeling emotions under the spotlight, preteens will discover script writing, performance, and the magic of theatre both on and off the stage. Building confidence and challenging themselves as they develop their skills both individually and as an ensemble. Funky Fairy Tales weekly workshops are back, and better than ever! Over nine weeks, young actors aged 5 to 9 are invited to join in a quest of creativity and fun, as they create characters, develop dialogue, and learn to spin stories on the stage! With a focus on developing confidence, imagination and a fun acting ensemble, the final workshop day will result in a magical performance, written by and starring these young performers!
